Projects - Palace Gallery, St. Moritz

Palace Gallery

Location: St. Moritz     Year: 2003

The "Palace Gallery" is located directly opposite Badrutt's Palace Hotel at the northern end of the entrance courtyard, where it houses some of the world's most famous names in fashion, jewellery, art and banking.

The materials used in the building are contemporary variations on the renowned hotel's natural stone facade. The self-supporting outer casing consists of very large splitted stone slabs from the Calanca Valley (2m x 1m). The ten-centimetre thick slabs are smooth on the shorter facades and in the stairwell recess. The shop frontage is made of chrome steel and the brand logos are punched out and back-lit. The building fulfils low energy standards.
